However, his research partner Catherine discovers that Paul stole the data from a competing scientist at Cal-Tech who has dedicated his life to save his infected father. Ignoring the potential consequences of his actions, Paul passes the cure on as his own.
Ten years later, Paul's wife Laura wakes up from a coma with little or no memory or her abduction, massive body scars, and a disappeared husband. What she uncovers is a hidden agenda that changes the course of her understanding of Paul, her family, love, and even herself. In Laura's quest to stabalize the memory of her husband and the life she once had, those around her begin to collide in an epicenter of greed and self-destruction.
